Below are some things you can expect at Disney World in August as well as some tips to beat the crowds and the heat!

#1 Dress Light and Comfortable
August weather in central Florida will be hot and humid, so make sure to wear breathable clothing, hats, and sunscreen.
Your visit to Disney World probably won’t require long pants, but it’s a good idea to bring a sweatshirt or jacket in case of rainy weather. Rain can cause temperatures to drop, and I learned this lesson the hard way at Epcot.
On typical hot August days, it’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes, shorts, and a cute short-sleeved Disney t-shirt or tank top.
#2 Stay Hydrated
In the Florida heat, it’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay cool and refreshed. I recommend bringing along a high-quality refillable water bottle and ordering bottled water through a grocery delivery service.
I also like to bring some water flavor packets because the water at Disney World sometimes has a weird taste.
#3 Plan Ahead
August tends to be a busy month, so make sure to plan your itinerary in advance and make park reservations as early as possible. You’ll also want to make dining reservations as soon as you can, 60 days before your vacation.

Mobile ordering lets you pre-order food at select restaurants, allowing you to skip the line and pick up your order when it’s ready.
#5 Arrive Early
Beat the crowds by arriving at the park early in the morning when it’s less busy. If you are staying onsite at a Disney World Resort hotel, you can get into the parks 30 minutes before it opens to the general public!
#6 Take Breaks and Pace Yourself
Disney World can be overwhelming, so take breaks and pace yourself to avoid burnout and exhaustion. If you arrive early for rope drop, head back to your hotel in the afternoon to take a nap or a swim.

For guests who want to skip the lines, Disney has introduced a paid service called Disney Genie+. This service functions similarly to the old Fastpass+ system and allows you to make reservations for certain attractions.
Additionally, there are individual Lightning Lane selections available for purchase on some of the most popular rides, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tron, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Flight of Passage.
Stay in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel
To beat the Disney World crowds, consider staying in one of Disney’s onsite resorts. Guests who stay at a Disney World Resort hotel get special perks that can help them avoid long lines and crowded areas.
One way to do this is by taking advantage of Early Entry, which allow you to explore the theme parks 30 minutes before they open to the public.

One adult can sit out with that child while the other adult goes on the ride. When the adult who rode the ride is done, the other adult can then ride with up to two guests without waiting in the stand by line!
