I love trying out new hotels and sharing my experiences with you to help you decided if it is the right property for your family.
On our recent trip to Walt Disney World, we chose to stay off-property at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace. One of my good friends actually found this hotel for us, and I have to say, it was a great experience.
Our family usually stays at Disney resort hotels because of all of the perks. Some of our favorites are Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort (which you can read all about here).
We have also stayed at a few off-property hotels including Embassy Suites Orlando International Drive and Homewood Suites Orlando Theme Parks.

Disney Perks at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace
Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace is located right in the middle of the Disney magic, right across the street from Disney Springs.
In fact, you can take advantage of many of the perks that guests staying at a Disney resort receive including Extra Magic Hours and early access to make FastPass+ reservations. You can even purchase Disney World Park tickets right inside the lobby.
Room Tour
We stayed in a room with two queen beds located on the 10th floor of the tower. There was balcony with a view of the resort.
At the time, our room was $136/night plus tax, and a $35 nightly resort fee. For a few more dollars, you can have a view of Disney Springs.
Each room includes free wi-fi for Hilton Honors members, a work desk and chair, plush pillow-top bedding, a mini refrigerator, coffeemaker, in room safe, a hairdryer, and HDTV.
The bathroom has a nice vanity with amazing lighting. There is also a closet. The shower/tub combination and toilet are in a separate room, which is nice when more than one person is getting ready in the morning.
Pool Area & Float Lagoon
Now let’s head out to the pool! The pool area was one of the main things that attracted us to this hotel. Once you see it, you’ll know why.
There are two heated pools, a splash area, a hot tub, and a lazy river called float lagoon, complete with complimentary float tubes.
There are also private cabanas available for rent that serve up to 6 people and include a covered awning with ceiling fan, retractable curtains, a day bed, lounge chairs, a Mini-fridge, flat screen TV and a safe.
My kids spent the majority of their time in the lazy river, and I don’t blame them. It was a blast!
The outside area of the resort was beautiful! We loved our walks outside.
Fitness Center
Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace has an amazing, fully stocked fitness center. You will find both cardio machines as well as an assortment of free weights.
You can get your daily workout between the hours of 6 am and 11 pm.
Bridge to Disney Springs
A great perk of staying at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace is its proximity to Disney Springs. After a short, easy, 5-7 minute walk across a really cool bridge you can enjoy all of the dining and shopping offerings at Disney Springs.
We took advantage of this opportunity almost every night. If you make it over there, I highly recommend grabbing lunch or dinner at The Chicken Guy. It was delicious!
On-Site Restaurants
There are four different dining opportunities at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace. Letterpress offers American comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but was temporarily closed during our visit.
If you want to grab something quick to eat, Sunnies located in the lobby or Shades located next to the pool have many items to choose from. We tried the nachos and chicken strips and both were delicious.
Down on the lower level of the hotel, you will find Citrus 28 which offers grab and go options all day from 6 am to 10 pm.
My kids may or may not have had an ice cream cone every single day we were there.
There is also a small arcade on the lower level that my kids loved.
Complimentary Shuttle to Disney World
Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace Hotel guests have access to scheduled shuttle transportation to all four Walt Disney World® theme parks.
Shuttle pick-up is located outside courtyard on first floor (next to fitness center).
Shuttle times were a little sparse during our stay, because of limited hours at the parks, so we ended up taking an Uber in the morning and riding the shuttle back to the hotel.
There were also a couple of days where we would take a Disney transportation bus to a Disney resort, then a bus to Disney Springs where we could walk back to our Hotel.
This was actually pretty fun, because we got to see other properties as well.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace near Walt Disney World. We really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again.
