I am one of those people who does not like to stake out a spot to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom hours in advance. In fact, I am not a fan of crowds and get quite overwhelmed when I am in a crowded space.

One way to get around this and still enjoy the amazing show is a Disney Fireworks Dessert Party. You will definitely pay for this experience, and I wouldn’t do it on every visit, but for a special occasion, the dessert party experience is a magical experience.

About The “Happily Ever After” Fireworks Show

The current fireworks show at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is called “Happily Every After” and is shown on select nights at around 9:30 pm. Here is a quick description of the show:

Be dazzled by Happily Ever After, a fireworks extravaganza that captures the heart, humor and heroism of favorite Disney stories. Watch in wonder as Cinderella Castle is magically transformed with color, light and dramatic effects—to the tune of a soaring score featuring contemporary versions of beloved Disney songs.

What Is A Disney Fireworks Dessert Party?

The Disney Fireworks Dessert Party is a fun experience that combines the best of both worlds: dessert and fireworks! You get to enjoy delicious desserts, snacks, drinks and best of all—the amazing Happily Ever After fireworks show with a reserved seat or reserved viewing area, depending on the party you attend. Keep in mind that valid theme park admission is required to attend the party.

Magic Kingdom Dessert Parties take place in Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, which is an outdoor space with tables and chairs set up in front of Cinderella Castle. There is a covered area in the event of rain, but it can get quite crowded during peak seasons.

Making a reservation for a Disney Dessert Party is different than standard Disney Dining reservations. With other reservations, you will not be charged until you complete your meal and receive the check. These reservations can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance without penalty.

With a dessert party reservation, you will pay in full at the time of booking. These reservations can be cancelled up to seven days prior without a penalty and you will be refunded. Within 7 days of the reservation, you will be responsible for the full amount.

Disney Fireworks Dessert Party Options

There are three different options when choosing which party you choose to attend. Prices will vary, depending on the experience you want.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party

For the pre-party, you will check in with a Cast Member at your assigned time and enjoy your dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace. Shortly before the start of the fireworks show, you will be lead to a prime standing area in the Plaza Garden viewing area, where you will stand for the duration of the show.

Fireworks Dessert Pre-Party Prices: Admission is $99 per adult (ages 10 and up); $59 per child (ages 3 to 9), tax included. Gratuity is not included or required.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats & Sweets

For the Seats & Sweets party, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace and enjoy your desserts while sitting at your reserved table for the fireworks show. This show is different from the other two because you are able to sit in a chair on the terrace rather than standing in the garden area.

Disney Fireworks Seats & Sweets Dessert Party Prices: Admission is $114 per adult (ages 10 and up); $69 per child (ages 3 to 9), tax included. Gratuity is not included or required.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party

For the dessert post-party, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace and be lead to a reserved standing area in the Plaza Garden shortly before showtime. After the fireworks show, you will end with enjoying your desserts.

Fireworks Dessert Post-Party Prices: Admission is $99 per adult (ages 10 and up); $59 per child (ages 3 to 9), tax included. Gratuity is not included or required.

Fireworks Party Check-In

For all three parties, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace. A Cast Member will check your reservation and give you a wrist band to wear. You will then enjoy your dessert party or be lead to the viewing area, depending on which party you reserved.

What to Expect During the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Seats & Sweets Dessert Party

The Seats & Sweets party is a great way to enjoy the fireworks show without having to worry about staking out a good spot. The pre-party and post-party are also enjoyable, but you will have to stand for the duration of the show.

When you check in with the Cast Member at Tomorrowland Terrace, they will issue your wrist band and give you a description of the dessert party, including an explanation of what is included. You will be asked to check in 60 – 90 minutes prior to the fireworks show, so they can lead you to your reserved seating area. Find out your check-in time in the My Disney Experience App.

The delectable desserts are served buffet style with a selection of delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. Non-alcoholic beverages are served in carafes, and alcoholic beverages are available for guests ages 21 and over. The Cast Members will check ID’s before serving any alcohol.

Where is the Dessert Party Fireworks Viewing Area?

This depends on which party you choose. For the pre-party and post-party, you will be lead to a reserved standing area in the Plaza Garden in front of Cinderella Castle.

For the Seats & Sweets Party, you will enjoy your desserts at Tomorrowland Terrace while sitting at your reserved table for the fireworks show.

The viewing area for all three parties is a great spot with an unobstructed view of the beautiful fireworks display!

Tips & Suggestions for Attending the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party

When attending any Disney dessert party, it’s important to plan ahead. Make sure you have reservations well in advance for best results, and arrive at your assigned time so you can get the most out of your experience. Sometimes same-day reservations are available, but if this special experience is important to you, book them Ahead of time.

The dessert party is a great way to enjoy the fireworks show, but there are some tips and tricks that can make it even more magical. Make sure you dress for the occasion – comfortable shoes, lightweight clothing, and a hat or visor will help keep you cool in the summer heat!

Bring along an extra camera battery or two and a portable charger for your phone. This will allow you to take lots of pictures—you don’t want to miss out on capturing the beautiful colors in the sky!

Finally, make sure you use the restroom before heading off to your dessert party; this way, you won’t have to leave once the show has already started.

What Time Do the Fireworks Start at Disney World?

The fireworks show at Disney World varies depending on the park you are visiting. At Magic Kingdom, the Happily Ever After firework show starts at 9 PM most nights of the week. No matter what time it is, though, you can always expect a magical experience!
