Disneyland California Crowds in February
Crowd levels in February are among the lowest of the year, especially early February, which is why it is one of the best times to visit Disneyland. Generally, the weekends will be a little busier than weekdays, but the crowds are still manageable and there won’t be too many long lines. You can expect higher crowds for the Presidents’ Day long weekend. How fun would it be to spend Valentine’s Day at the Disneyland Resort?
There are ways to battle the busier weekend crowds though. Try purchasing Disney Genie+, which will help reduce long wait times in line. You can use Rider Switch if you have little ones who are not quite tall enough for certain attractions. Or you can stay at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels and get early entry to the Disney parks before other guests.
Average Weather at Disneyland in February
The weather at Disneyland in February is actually pretty pleasant. The average high temperatures are in the upper 60s or low 70s. At night, the lows are generally in the upper 40s or low 50s.
There are usually a few rainy days and there will be some days that are cloudy, but it is still winter. Plan on warm days and cool nights. Check out the weather forecast for February here!
What to Pack for Disneyland in February
Knowing what to pack in February is very important. You don’t want to be unprepared and end up having to use your hard-earned money on things you could have brought from home.
Make sure to check out my Disneyland packing list, my tips for using Amazon to Save Money at Disney and 10 Things You NEED in your Disney Park Bag to help you pack! Below you’ll find a few things you might want to consider packing if you’ll be traveling to Disneyland in February.
Umbrella, Poncho & Stroller Protection
Although the weather forecast for Disneyland in February usually only calls for a few days with the chance of rain, we all know that the weather is unpredictable. Be prepared with a small travel umbrella and a poncho.
Not only can you use a poncho if it rains, but it can also come in handy to wear on rides like Splash Mountain (currently closed) or Grizzly River Run! You’ll also want to think about keeping your stroller dry if you have one. For some strollers, you can buy a special cover specifically made for it.
But those covers can be expensive. I like to buy a shower curtain liner from Dollar Tree and use clothes pins to hold it in place over the stroller. The total cost is $2.00 and it works like a champ!
Sun Protection
The California sun can be brutal, even in the winter months. Make sure that you are ready for the UV rays by packing some sunblock, hat, and sunglasses. Also, don’t forget to protect your kids! Nothing ruins a magical Disneyland vacation like a sunburn!
What to Wear at Disneyland in February
The mornings and evenings at Disneyland can be pretty chilly, but the days will be warm. This makes packing clothing for Disneyland in February a little tricky. Pack jeans or long pants to stay warm and comfortable during the cooler temperatures.
Wear a short-sleeved top and bring a lightweight jacket or sweater that can be kept in a backpack or worn around your waist during the day.
Disneyland Park Hours in February
Here are the projected hours for the Disneyland Theme Parks in February. As always, these hours are subject to change to change so be sure to check Disneyland’s website for current information.
Disneyland Park

Disney’s California Adventure Park
- Opens at 10:00 am
- Closes at 8:00 or 9:00 pm
- Park Hopping Hours 11:00 am – Close
Disneyland Ride Closures
The downside with visiting Disneyland during the slower months like February, is that there are generally more ride closures than other times of the year. Because of this, it’s important to stay up to date with ride closures by checking Disneyland’s website.
Disneyland seems to update their list one to two months ahead of time, so check back in December or January for current information.
Disneyland Ticket Savings in February
There aren’t a lot of Disneyland ticket savings out there, but they can be found if you know where to look.
Make sure that if you buy Disney tickets from a third party, that they are an authorized ticket seller. I usually buy my park tickets from Get Away Today. Their ticket prices are almost always a few dollars cheaper than Disneyland’s gate prices.
Get Away Today is also doing a special right now on their Disneyland tickets. You can get an Adult 3 Day Park Hopper Ticket for the price of a child’s ticket!
That’s up to a $19 savings per ticket giving you the lowest price around! Check out www.getawaytoday.com for current deals.
You can always use the Get Away Today promo code: Clubhouse10 to get $10 off any 2-night or longer Southern California package. (Hotel and 2 ticket minimum purchase to qualify for the discount).
There are so many things to think about when you are planning a trip to Disneyland.

I have a 3 and 4 year old and would love to see the fireworks. They are typically asleep by 7:30-8 and we will from Boston. So not sure how to handle time zones. I’m thinking it’s a long shot at this point. Any tips?

I would definitely try to take a break/nap during the day. That's what I have always done with little kids and it seems to help them stay awake later so they are able to see the fireworks. I would also have a rest day from the parks the day after they stay up late. Hope that helps!
