  • Butter: You'll need 1 cup of softened butter for this frosting. Use salted or unsalted butter.
  • Powdered Sugar: To sweeten the frosting, you'll need 4 cups of powdered sugar.
  • Graham Crackers: For a classic graham cracker flavor, you'll need 3 sheets of crushed graham crackers. I crush mine in a food processor.

How to Store Cupcakes

S'mores cupcakes are best enjoyed the same day they are made. However, if you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I like to use a cupcake container like this to store my cupcakes.

You can also freeze these cupcakes for up to 3 months. Just make sure they are completely cooled and stored in a freezer-safe container.

Baking Tips & Tricks

  • For the best results, make sure to follow the instructions in this recipe to get dense, flat-topped cupcakes that are perfect for decorating.
  • Don't overfill the cupcake liners with batter or you'll end up with messy cupcakes. I like to use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop for this recipe.
  • If your frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar until it reaches the desired consistency. You can also add a tablespoon or two of heavy cream or enough milk to help thin out the frosting.
