Potato wedges are a classic side dish, but they can be unhealthy if you fry them in oil.

Most people think that the only way to make crispy and delicious potato wedges is by frying them in oil. This can be unhealthy, since it adds extra fat and calories to your meal.

Air fryer potato wedges are a better alternative to traditional fried wedges. They’re cooked with very little oil, and they’re ready in just 20 minutes! If you’re a fan of this recipe, you’ll want to try these salt and pepper chips.

How to Make Potato Wedges Crispy

If you want extra crispy potato wedges, the best thing to do is to cook the wedges in small batches. By doing this, you make sure that you don’t over-crowd the air fryer basket which allows the air to circulate around each potato.

Another tip is to add cornstarch to the potatoes before cooking. This will help them to become extra crispy!

How To Cut Potatoes Into Wedges

Cutting the potatoes into wedges is the most important step in this recipe. If the wedges are too thick, they won’t cook evenly and will be difficult to eat. If they’re too thin, they’ll cook too quickly and will be burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.

To make the best air fryer potato wedges, the ideal thickness is about 1/2-inch. To cut the potatoes into wedges, first wash and dry them. Cut each potato in half length-wise, then slice each half into 4 equal wedges.

The Best Potato Type To Make Potato Wedges

There are many different types of potatoes that you can use to make wedges. The best type of potato for this recipe is the Russet potato. Russet potatoes are large and starchy, which makes them perfect for making wedges. They’re also relatively inexpensive, making them a great option if you’re on a budget.

Another alternative would be Yukon Gold potatoes. Yukon Gold potatoes are smaller than Russet potatoes, but they’re just as starchy. They have a slightly sweeter flavor than Russet potatoes, which some people prefer.

For a different taste and size, you can also try using red potatoes.
