Family Suite Room Tour

The room I stayed in was a family suite with a kitchenette that is 430 square feet. Family suites can sleep up to 6 guests and mine was located in the Castaway Building right across from the pool area.

The living room in this hotel room had two chairs, a coffee table, flat-screen tv, dresser, and a sleeper sofa that folds out into a full-size bed and definitely shows off this property’s retro theme.

The Kitchenette had a microwave, sink, coffee maker, and mini fridge. There is also a couple of bar stools that fit under the counter.

The bedroom area had two Queen beds with a nightstand in the middle and a couple of drawers. There was a sliding door to separate the bedroom from the living room.

The closet has an iron, ironing board, and a safe.

The bathroom had a separate room for the toilet, a vanity that is open to the bedroom and another sink that was in the room with the shower and bathtub. This set up makes it easy for multiple people to get ready for the day at the same time.

Pool

There are two huge pools at Cabana Bay that are amazing!

The Lazy River Courtyard and Pool is home to a swimming pool that features a lazy river and sand beaches and a hot tub. Plus, guests can bowl at Galaxy Bowl, the hotel’s very own bowling alley.

The Cabana Courtyard Pool has a dive tower-themed water slide, cabanas for rent and a poolside bar. I wish I had more time to spend by the pools here.

As I mentioned earlier, staying at this property allows you to get early admission into Universal’s theme parks and that includes Volcano Bay water park, which happens to be right next door.

Cabana Bay even has it’s own dedicated entrance that is just for hotel guests, which definitely helped us bypass the early crowds from the other resorts and is a short walk from the main lobby.

When staying at this resort, you also get complimentary transportation to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The shuttle buses seemed to come around pretty frequently, which was nice.
