[Step 3] Streusel Topping: Whisk together the flour, brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle the butter over the dry ingredients and mix with a fork until crumbs begin to form. Do not over mix or the streusel will become pasty. Sprinkle over the apple pie filling.

[Step 4] Bake the cinnamon rolls at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until the edges of the cinnamon rolls begin and the streusel begin to turn brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack and drizzle with the included icing, if desired.

How to Store Leftovers

To store apple cinnamon roll muffins, let them cool completely before sealing them in an airtight container. They’ll stay fresh for about 2-3 days at room temperature. If you want to keep them longer, you can store them in the fridge for up to a week.

For extra freshness, you can also freeze them! Just wrap each muffin tightly in plastic wrap or place them in a freezer-safe bag, and they’ll stay good for up to 3 months. When you're ready to enjoy, just reheat them in the microwave or oven for a warm, cozy treat!

Baking Tips & Tricks

  • Preheating the oven is crucial. This ensures your muffins will bake evenly.
  • For the homemade streusel topping, mixing until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs is key. It should not be too wet or too dry.
  • To prevent the Apple Streusel Muffins from sticking, greasing the muffin tin well is a step not to be skipped.
