Instant Pot

After browning the meat, you pretty much add all of the ingredients to the Instant Pot, turn it on, and enjoy it about 20 minutes later!

Even if you are not planning to watch the Super Bowl, you can still enjoy a bowl of this chili with a slice of moist cornbread for the perfect meal on a cold day.

Why Chili is a Good Super Bowl Food

When it comes to sports, chili is a timeless classic for a game day menu. It’s hearty, filling, and comforting—just what you need when you’re cheering on your favorite team. Plus, it makes great leftovers if there happens to be any.

It also pairs well with other snacks like chips and dip or soft pretzels at Super Bowl parties.

Ingredients for Super Bowl Chili

*Ingredient amounts are located in the recipe card at the end of this post.

Meat: For this Super Bowl chili, I used a combination of ground beef, and hot ground sausage, but feel free to customize this to your taste.

Vegetables: This chili calls for chopped yellow onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and minced garlic cloves.

Tomatoes: Tomatoes are the heart and soul of chili and this recipe uses crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes.

Red Kidney Beans: I usually use Kidney beans in this recipe, but I have also used chili beans, pinto beans, and black beans as well with great results.

Diced Green Chiles: To give the chili a bit of heat, I add a can of diced green chiles. Feel free to use mild or hot depending on your preference.

Beef Broth & Soy Sauce: For some extra flavor, I use both beef broth and Soy Sauce in this recipe.

Spices: For this Super Bowl Chili, use a combination of chili powder, beef bullion, cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, coriander, black pepper, and salt.

Brown Sugar: Lastly, a little bit of brown sugar helps to balance out the flavors.
