Ingredients
- Chicken Breast: Using boneless skinless chicken breasts ensures the Marry Me Chicken Alfredo has that impeccably tender, juicy bite, perfectly complementing the creamy sauce. I start by seasoning them generously with salt and pepper before searing in a hot skillet to achieve that irresistible golden brown crust that’s just begging for a marriage proposal. Boneless skinless chicken thighs can be substituted.
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Rich, flavorful sun-dried tomatoes in oil, adding tang to our creamy sun-dried tomato sauce and can be found in your local grocery store.
- Onion: Chopped onion layers into this creamy sauce, infusing a subtle sweetness that elevates the dish’s flavor complexity magnificently.
- Minced Garlic: Fresh garlic plays a crucial role, adding a pungent, aromatic layer that beautifully complements the savory notes of the chicken and sauce.
- Red Pepper Flakes: Just a pinch of red pepper flakes add a gentle heat, enhancing the marry me chicken pasta’s flavor without overwhelming the creamy sauce.
- Alfredo Sauce:A jar of Alfredo sauce transforms this dish into a quick, creamy delight, perfect for a cozy, heartwarming meal.
- Parmesan:Grated parmesan cheese is crucial, adding a salty, nutty flavor that beautifully ties together the rich, creamy sauce and tender chicken.
- Optional Chopped Basil: Garnishing with fresh basil adds a vibrant burst of color and a fragrant, aromatic finish that perfectly complements the creamy richness of the Alfredo sauce.
- Penne Pasta: Use a substantial pasta like penne, rigatoni, or fettuccini. For more flavor, cook the pasta in chicken stock instead of water.
How to Make Marry Me Chicken Pasta
[Step 1] Heat a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta in boiling water al dente according to package directions.
[Step 2] While the pasta is cooking, season chicken with salt and black pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil (I used the oil from the jar of sundried tomatoes) in a large skillet and cook chicken over medium-high heat until cooked through.
[Step 3] Remove the chicken from the skillet and cook the chopped onion in the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil for 2 minutes. Add the garlic & red pepper flakes and cook for 2 more minutes.
[Step 4] Add the sauce, tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese to the onion mixture and cook over medium heat for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts. Add the cooked chicken and drained cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to coat. Sprinkle the top with more parmesan and chopped basil if desired.

Tips for Success
- Achieve the perfect creamy sauce consistency by simmering your sauce on a low heat, stirring frequently to avoid any lumps forming and ensuring a smooth, velvety finish that clings perfectly to your al dente pasta.
- Ensure your pasta is cooked al dente by timing it carefully according to the package instructions. It should be firm to the bite, which is essential for the perfect marry me chicken alfredo experience.
- Adjust seasoning to personal preference by tasting your sauce as you go. Don’t be afraid to add a little more garlic, a pinch of red pepper flakes, or an extra sprinkle of parmesan to get that ideal balance of flavors tailored just for you.
