Great news! Disney is really coming through for their fans by releasing official recipes of some of their most beloved treats!
This homemade Dole Whip recipe uses only 3 ingredients and can be made in less than five minutes.
The Dole Whip you can buy at Disneyland, Disney World, and many Disney resorts, is non-dairy.
If you want a purely authentic version, make sure to use your favorite non dairy ice cream. We like coconut milk ice cream and almond milk ice cream.
You’ll want to make sure that you use a powerful blender and blend thoroughly to avoid having pineapple chunks, unless that’s what you want 😉 The homemade Dole Whip will be really thick.
The recipe below is for 1 serving. I tripled it when I made it and it was more than enough for the 5 of us.
Also, I probably would only double the recipe next time, as it was hard for the blender, even my powerful Ninja, to get all of the pineapple chunks.
We decided that we wanted to have the look of the standard swirl of the soft-serve that you can purchase at Disney.
To achieve this, add your Dole Whip to a large piping bag, fitted with a large star tip. Place the piping bag in the freezer for about 30 minutes, then swirl in an ice cream dish.
You can also make my favorite, a Dole Whip Float, by adding it to a tall milkshake glass and adding some reserved pineapple juice!
To take it up another notch, add a cute paper umbrella or a fun paper straw. If you’re going to make this at home, you’d might as well go for the gold!
Homemade Dole Whip Ingredients
- 1 Large Scoop of Ice Cream (About 1/2-3/4 Cup)
- 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice
- 2 Cups Frozen Pineapple Chunks
- Add the ice cream to a powerful blender, or food processor, like my Ninja.
- Measure the pineapple chunks and add them to the blender.
- Pour in the pineapple juice.
- Blend completely. You might need to stop the blender and push down the pineapple chunks a few times during blending.
- If desired, add the Dole Whip to a large piping bag with a large star tip and place in the freezer for 30 minutes and pipe into an ice cream dish.
- Serve with extra pineapple juice to create a Dole Whip Float.
