Ingredients

  • 1 Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • ½ Cup Butter melted
  • 3 Eggs divided
  • 4 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 8 Ounces Cream Cheese

Instructions

  • Red Velvet Layer: Add the box of red velvet cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg to a mixing bowl and use a silicone spatula or large wooden spoon to combine the ingredients by hand. Use a greased spatula to press the red velvet cake crust into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Tip: You can place a sheet of parchment paper in the baking dish before adding the cake mix cookie crust layer for easier removal of the bars when cool.
  • Cream Cheese Layer: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, and powdered sugar together with an electric hand mixer until smooth, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the red velvet layer.
  • Bake the bars at 350 degrees for 40 - 50 minutes, or until the top begins to turn golden brown. 
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
