Queen's Favorite Drop Scones Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ Cup Caster Sugar superfine sugar
  • 1 ½ Cups Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 3 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter

Instructions

  • Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. You'll know it's ready when a drop of water sizzles and evaporates on contact.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the sugar and ¾ cup of milk.
  • Mix in the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and the other ¾ cup of milk.
  • Fold in the butter.
  • Use a cookie scoop or measuring cup to measure 3-4 Tablespoons of batter. Grease the hot griddle and drop the batter onto it.
  • Allow the scone to cook for about 3 minutes, then flip over and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the scone is golden brown.
  • Remove and serve with your favorite toppings.
