Gather the Ingredients

You will need water, sugar, active dry yeast, flour, melted butter, salt, vanilla extract, baking soda, powdered sugar, and whipped cream.

Proof the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup warm water, 1 teaspoon sugar, and yeast. Set the mixture aside for 10 minutes.

Overnight Waffle Batter

In a very large bowl (larger than you think) mix together the flour, melted butter, water, and yeast mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.

Rise Overnight

The next morning, preheat your Belgian waffle iron and remove the batter from the refrigerator and stir in 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and baking soda.

Cook the Waffles

Add 1/4 cup – 1/2 cup of waffle batter (1/2 cup for mine) to the hot waffle iron that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake until golden brown.

Add Toppings

Add your favorite waffle & funnel cake toppings like a dusting of powdered sugar and whipped cream shaped like Mickey Mouse!
