Gather the Ingredients

You will need all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cream of tartar, cold butter, honey, eggs, and buttermilk.

1

Dry Ingredients

Mix all of the dry ingredients, flour sugar, salt, baking powder, and cream of tartar, together in a large bowl.

2

Cut in the Butter

Cut the butter in by using a pastry blender, a whisk, or a food processor. Whichever tool you use, make sure you break up the butter into small chunks.

3

Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk the honey, egg and buttermilk together. If needed, heat the honey up in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

4

Combine Ingredients

Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and mix until just moistened.

5

Roll Out the Dough

Place the dough on a floured surface and knead a couple of times. Pat the dough out to 1 inch thick rectangle.

6

Cut the Biscuits

Use a cup or a biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes until they are golden brown.

7

Bake the Biscuits

Remove the baked biscuits from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes. Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter if desired.
