As you can see from the crowd calendar below, July is anticipated to be a very busy time to go to Disneyland this year.

With most schools out for the summer and the opening of Star Wars Land, there are a lot of people that want to spend time at the Disneyland Resort.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening

If you haven’t heard, Disney has announced the opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (Star Wars Land) at Disneyland Park as May 31, 2019.

Star Wars Land will definitely have an impact on crowd levels in July, but Disneyland is trying to combat this by limiting the amount of people allowed into the land at one time.

Average Weather at Disneyland in July

The average high temperatures at Disneyland in July are in the high 80s and low 90s and lows in the mid to high 60s.

Looking ahead, the weather forecast for Disneyland in July calls for mostly sunny days with a few partly cloudy days scattered in. It looks like perfect weather to me!

But, the weather is always unpredictable and can change at any time. Make sure to check the current weather forecast before you leave, so you will know what to expect.

What to Pack for Disneyland in July

Knowing what to pack for Disneyland in July is important. You don’t want to be unprepared and end up having to spend your vacation budget on things that could easily have been brought from home with a little planning.

Make sure you check out my post on what you should have in your Disney Park Bag and how your can use Amazon to save money at Disney!

Pack Rain Protection

Although the weather forecast for Disneyland in July doesn’t currently call for rain, we all know that the weather will do what it wants sometimes.

I always like to be prepared with a small travel umbrella and ponchos. These items can easily be kept in the car or hotel room if rain doesn’t look likely.

Ponchos come in handy not only for rain, but to wear on rides like Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run where you are guaranteed to get wet!

Check out Mommy Mouse Clubhouse on YouTube!

If you have a stroller with you, I like to buy a cheap shower curtain liner and clothes pins from Dollar Tree to place over the stroller and protect it from the rain. It is so much cheaper than buying a stroller cover!

Pack Sun Protection

The California sun can be brutal, especially in July. Make sure that you are ready for the UV rays by packing some sunblock, hat, and sunglasses.

Also make sure your kids are protected too. Nothing ruins a magical vacation like a sunburn!

Pack Clothing For Warm Weather, Bring a Jacket

The mornings and evenings at Disneyland in July can be a little chilly, but the days will be warm. this can make packing clothing a little tricky.

You will want to wear shorts or capris and a short-sleeved top, but I definitely recommend bringing a lightweight jacket or sweatshirt that can be kept in a backpack or worn around your waist during the day.

Ride Closures in June

I love that Disneyland takes pride in their parks and attractions. Because of this, there are usually a few rides at both Parks that are closed for refurbishment at different times throughout the year.

But, you can stay up to date with ride closures by checking Disneyland’s website.

Disneyland seems to update their list of refurbishments one or two months head of time, so check back for July’s closures in May or June.
