February is one of the best months to visit the Disneyland Resort. The weather is mild, hotel prices are a little lower and the lines are shorter. With that said, there are a few things to consider if you plan to visit Disneyland in February. In this post, I’ll cover six things you should consider when planning to visit Disneyland in February. #1 Disneyland Crowds in February

Disneyland February Crowd Calendar

The crowds in February are among the lowest of the year, which is why it is one of my favorite times to visit Disneyland. Generally, the weekends will be a little busier than weekdays, but the crowds are still manageable. How fun would it be to spend Valentine’s Day at the Disneyland Resort? Be sure to check out my post, The BEST Days to Visit Disneyland in 2017 fora yearly crowd calendar.

#2 Average Weather at Disneyland in February

The weather at Disneyland in February is actually pretty pleasant. The average high during the day is in the upper 60s or low 70s. At night, the low is generally in the upper 40s or low 50s. The weather forecast for February 2017 only shows four days of rain for the month! There will be some days that are cloudy, but it is winter after all. Plan on warm days and cool nights.

# 3 What to Pack for Disneyland in February

Knowing what to pack in February at Disneyland is important. You don’t want to be unprepared and end up having to use your vacation budget on things that could easily have been brought from home with a little planning. Make sure you check out my post on How Amazon Can Save You Money at Disney. Here are a few things you might want to consider packing if you’ll be traveling to Disneyland in February.

Pack an Umbrella or Poncho & Stroller Protection

Although the weather forecast for Disneyland in February only calls for four days of rain, we all know that the weather is unpredictable. Be prepared with a small travel umbrella or a poncho. A poncho can also come in handy to wear on rides like Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Run to keep your clothes dry. You’ll also need to think about keeping your stroller dry, if you have one. For some strollers you can buy covers that are specifically made for them, but those can be expensive. I like to buy a shower curtain liner from Dollar Tree and use cloths pins to hold in place over the stroller. It costs $2.00 and works like a champ!

Pack Sun Protection

The California sun can be brutal, even in the winter months. Make sure that you are ready for the UV rays by packing some sunblock and a hat. Also make sure your kids are protected too.  Nothing ruins a magical vacation like a sunburn!

Pack a Travel Blanket

travel blanket is also a good idea to bring along to Disneyland in February. Not only will it keep you warm on those chilly February Disneyland nights, but it can also serve another purpose. It can be a great to sit on while watching a parade or fireworks show.

Pack for both Warm and Cold Weather

The mornings and evenings at Disneyland can be pretty chilly, but the days will be warm. This makes packing clothing for Disneyland in February a little tricky. Pack jeans or long pants to stay warm and comfortable during the cooler temperatures. Wear a short-sleeved top and bring a lightweight jacket or sweater that can be kept in a backpack or worn around your waist during the day.

#6 Disneyland Ticket Savings in February

There aren’t a lot of Disneyland ticket savings out there, but they can be found if you know where to look. Make sure that if you buy Disney tickets from a third party, that they are an authorized ticket seller. I usually buy my park tickets from Get Away Today. Their ticket prices are almost always a few dollars cheaper than Disneyland’s gate prices. Get Away Today is also doing a special right now on their Disneyland tickets. You can get a 5-Day Park Hopper Ticket for the price of a 4-Day ticket! That’s a free day at Disneyland! Check getawaytoday.com for current deals. Right now you can use the promo code MommyMouse to get $10 off any 2-night or longer Southern California package. (Hotel and 2 ticket minimum purchase to qualify for the discount)

  1. Wonder when the train and Columbus will be open again. Last year it was close due to star wars being build.

    • There isn’t a specific date for the Train and the Sailing Ship Columbia. All I’ve seen is that they hope it will open sometime in 2017.
